BooBoo’s Sweater
Here it is. BooBoo’s sweater that I finished for him last spring. The sweater is knitted in Malabrigo Burgundy using the Fair Isle Yoke sweater pattern from Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Knitting Around book. I put a placket in BooBoo’s sweater but without steeking as I’m still not sure I could cut my knitting.
I know.
Buck up and do it.
I will.
Someday.
Of course, I always buy too much yarn. I had just over 1 skein left and asked BooBoo if he wanted a hat or a scarf from the leftover yarn.
He said: “Socks!”
Oh, crap! This isn’t a socky kind of yarn. But socks he will get. The first pattern that I tried out, a simple spiral rib from Melanie Falick’s Kids Knitting book isn’t working out. The body of the socks has gotten too wide for BooBoo’s skinny legs. I think I’m just going to try using ribbing up the entire foot and leg. The Malabrigo tends to relax so much that total ribbing may be the only way to keep the socks up once they are done anyway. That and some elastic thread round the tops.
