Woo Hoo!

I am published!  Okay, it’s not a book, but my recipe for Chicken Chow Mein was published in the e-book Slow Cooker Freezer Favorites by 30 Day Gourmet!  So, what do I get for that you ask.  A free copy of the e-book (saved me $6.95) and bragging rights that I had something of mine published.  I feel like Sally Field at the Oscars.  “You like me, you really like me!”.

Okay, on to other things.  We had a great weekend this past weekend.  I tagged along to DH’s dart night and enjoyed chatting with our friends on Thursday night.  Saturday night brought his company holiday party-which thanks to some of his co-workers and a very fun blackjack dealer was not a total washout.  We both had fun at the “Casino Night” portion of the evening, playing blackjack.  Then on Sunday, we took the kids to 10 am Mass, had a quick brunch at home, then went to see the Vatican Splendors exhibit.  It was a very beautiful exhibit and although the line was very long, well worth seeing.  DH & the kids got ahead of me.  I hope he had them touch the bronze cast of JPII’s hand.  That was absolutely the most moving part of the exhibit for me since I am unlikely to ever get to actually meet a pope.

Well, it’s snowing to beat the band out here today, so I’d better shower, get dressed and go out to buy milk before school gets cancelled (ha, ha).  Oh, that reminds me.  Loved the Flying McCoys comic from Saturday’s newspaper.  It totally represented our school district.  Enjoy your day.

"If you are what you should be you will set the whole world on fire."
St. Catherine of Sienna

I finally understand

"Among those around you, apostolic soul, you are the stone fallen into the lake. With your word and your example, you produce a first circle, and it another, and another, and another, wider each time. Now do you understand the greatness of your mission?" St. Josemarie Escriva: The Way
