Spring in the Frozen North

We’re almost to Groundhog’s Day.  Isn’t it great.  We allow a furry creature and its shadow to inform us of how much winter is left to endure.  If said creature sees its shadow, we have 6 more weeks of winter and if it doesn’t see its shadow then winter is nearly over (yeah, like in 6 more weeks).  Who was the person who came up with Puxatawny Phil anyway?!  I say shoot the groundhog so we can make a fur coat to try to stay warm for 6 more weeks.  Okay, repeat after me: “this can’t last forever, this can’t last forever, this can’t last forever”.  Now go have a hot beverage and watch a tropical movie.

I finally understand

"Among those around you, apostolic soul, you are the stone fallen into the lake. With your word and your example, you produce a first circle, and it another, and another, and another, wider each time. Now do you understand the greatness of your mission?" St. Josemarie Escriva: The Way
