The Wind-up

Well, we are gearing up for Race Day here.  DH & DD2 are part of the team racing an electric car built by a group of 4th-6th grade students at our school.  They are all exited and a bit nervous to see how their car does against the cars built by other schools/groups.

B.E.S.T. is a program that DH got involved in two years ago.  The full name is Bridging Engineers, Science & Technology.  Honeywell developed the program to bring science to kids in a fun, hands-on way.  Students at our school have really enjoyed the program.  It has also been a real learning experience for DH in working with a group of kids.  And I mean that in a positive way.  He has learned that working with kids not only teaches them something new, but teaches the adult something new each time as well.  I’ve learned alot from my volunteering and I look forward to seeing him grow from his experiences as well.

"If you are what you should be you will set the whole world on fire."
St. Catherine of Sienna

I finally understand

"Among those around you, apostolic soul, you are the stone fallen into the lake. With your word and your example, you produce a first circle, and it another, and another, and another, wider each time. Now do you understand the greatness of your mission?" St. Josemarie Escriva: The Way
