A few more pics

The computer was slow last night, so here are a few more pics of the flower garden.

The hummingbird feeder on the shepard’s hook in this pic is our little friends new favorite.  And they are quite protective of it, they even buzz me when I’m watering the flowers too long.  Cheeky little birds!

St. Francis looks pretty serene next to the plant stand.  Our next house project is replacement windows.  I hope we can get rid of the crankouts and put in something that is easy to clean.  It gives the neighbors pause when I sit on the sill of the uppers and lean out to clean them.

And a couple pics of the younger kiddos with a caterpillar we found while weeding the berry patch.

Don’t worry, that’s not blood on his hand-it’s cherry popsicle!  Which is probably why the caterpillar liked his hand so much.

Tickles really moved on Ditty’s hand.  She had a hard time keeping him in one place.  Maybe the kids should have named him Speedy or Flash instead 🙂

Yes, definitely. The tree roots in the flower bed as well as the twenty bags of river rock that had to be purchased and carted home were the biggest challenges. But at least the rock that I liked happened to be the cheapest to buy. At $1.75 per bag on sale, that worked out to $35.00 to complete the flower bed. And it won’t wash away or rot away like the wood mulch did.

It’s just so nice to have it all done and to know that all of the plants in the bed itself are perennials so I’ll only have to buy flowers for the pots next year. Now if the weather will cooperate, I’d love to spend a few hours just sitting in front of the finished project admiring the view 🙂

I finally understand

"Among those around you, apostolic soul, you are the stone fallen into the lake. With your word and your example, you produce a first circle, and it another, and another, and another, wider each time. Now do you understand the greatness of your mission?" St. Josemarie Escriva: The Way
