White Christmas

We’re certainly getting a white Christmas.  8 or so inches of snow so far and more is still falling. This is the nice wet stuff you can actually build a snowman with, but it’s very heavy to shovel or blow out of the driveway.

Mass today was beautiful, brunch was delicious and we played games with the kids. DH is napping on the couch and the kids are watching Shrek 2 upstairs.  We were supposed to host my parents today for Christmas dinner. Mom called this morning and said not to come to bring them down as the roads are slick and it was just too risky. Okay, I can go with that deflection.  We can have an early dinner and popcorn and a movie tonight.

Oh, and I made the Jesus candle per Charlotte’s directions (Waltzing Matilda blog), photo of which is now my header through Epiphany.  Thanks for the inspiration Charlotte.

"If you are what you should be you will set the whole world on fire."
St. Catherine of Sienna

I finally understand

"Among those around you, apostolic soul, you are the stone fallen into the lake. With your word and your example, you produce a first circle, and it another, and another, and another, wider each time. Now do you understand the greatness of your mission?" St. Josemarie Escriva: The Way
